Our Kentucky Office
Dr. Steven Johnson will be offering consultations in Louisville on Tuesday afternoons as part of the 21st Century Medicine practice. This additional location is at the newly renovated Westport Plaza at 1315 Herr Lane in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Johnson will share space with the MultiCare Center. The MultiCare Center includes a team of chiropractors, Edwin and April Hopson, who serve the Louisville Ballet, and a therapy team including physical therapy, occupational therapy, professional counseling services, massage, cranial sacral therapy and heart math.
Our practice in Kentucky will begin with a focus on office consultations, nutritional therapies, homeopathy, anti-aging, bio-identical hormone therapy, trigger point and joint injections and osteopathic treatment modalities. Ultrasound and other physical therapies are also available. Some specific therapies, such as intravenous treatments and specialized testing, are only available at our Indiana office.
We hope this additional office location will better serve our patients who have difficulties coming across the bridge. We will consider expanding hours in the future as we better evaluate the challenge of caring for two offices. Please call our Indiana office at (812) 282-4309 for questions about appointments and services at our Kentucky office.
SpectraCell Tests Aid Treatment Outcomes
Another improvement we have begun to utilize is our SpectraCell testing, which allows us to look at the particle sizes of your cholesterol. This test is covered by most insurance companies and gives us a detailed look at what type of cholesterol you have, far beyond just determining your good and bad cholesterol levels.
Certain supplement combinations can help improve the cholesterol and cardiovascular risk of many patients with dangerous lipid profiles. One such supplement protocol kit we now carry at our office is Triplichol, by Orthomolecular Products. This protocol includes low-flush niacin, Pantesin, plant sterols and fish oils. Triplichol can help improve lipid profile levels and Chelation Therapy outcomes in patients with heart disease or those focusing on heart disease prevention. In addition, this protocol is especially good for those patients not on conventional lipid therapy and those unable to take red yeast rice extract. Using SpectraCell test results, we can also better recommend which supplements will work best for you. Speak with your doctor if you are interested in more information concerning SpectraCell testing and Triplichol.
CryoProbe
Our office recently purchased a dermatology instrument called the CryoProbe. This instrument delivers liquid nitrogen to freeze superficial skin cancers, growths, warts and skin tags. It is about as cold and effective as the large nitrogen freeze tanks used in most dermatology offices. The small instrument, made in Austria, allows us to apply the freeze more precisely and directly to the lesion than many other delivery systems do, causing less burning, pain and swelling after the procedure. The CryoProbe also makes difficult to reach areas of the body easier to access. Many patients have long waits to have simple skin removal procedures done at a specialist’s office. For many routine cases, we can now perform these skin procedures at our office. Please talk with your doctor if you think you are a candidate for this particular treatment.
